Life Without Travel Is a Life Unlived

A Life Without Travel, is a Life Unlived ‘The world is a book and the individuals who don't travel read just a page,’ said St Augustine. I’ve consistently had an affection for movement, give me the assets and point me toward a path and I’m there. ? Simply the other week, I had the chance to visit probably the biggest city on the planet: Hong Kong. That open door came to me when I was headed to work. I got call from a companion who simply got some answers concerning a promotion for Cebu Air Pacific for trips to Hong Kong. She inquired as to whether I needed access. Decisively I said yes! Before knowing when the dates are, I said yes. That was three months prior. I never had any lament for that choice . We left Baguio around 12 PM for the long excursion to the Diosdado Macapagal Airport. We were energized, energetic. We didn’t rest the entire 4 and a half hour trip. Our flight was planned 9 am. We showed up 3 hours ahead of schedule. Better believe it, were energized. After that 3 hour pause and a two hour flight, touchdown Hong Kong! It’s entertaining that the movement from here to the air terminal was twice the length contrasted with the time heading off to another nation. Subsequent to clearing customs and dipping our packs, the principal thing we did was get something many refer to as an Octopus card. The octopus card is Hong Kong’s Universal method of paying for transportation charge. It’s advantageous. You simply swipe your card and you can bounce on anything. Transports, metros, ships, cable cars, and so on. So with that we took an excessively productive train directly into the core of Hong Kong. Following a brief ride and a couple of stops, We ventured shut off adapted train and we were quickly awed by what we saw. There are a huge number of individuals out on the roads shopping, eating and drinking and each road is lit up with electric signs and brilliant lights with the exemplary Asian energy. Our firs t goal , even before dropping off our sacks, was Ngong Ping town, the area of the Giant Buddha. The town is a socially themed fascination with parcels expressions and music and you truly figure out their conventions and culture. Visiting the Giant Buddha was the feature of the experience that must be reached by scaling a 300 hundred stage slope. The entire experience took the entire day. After that the time had come to head into Hong Kong. The real city of Hong Kong is based on a little island and for new developmentâ€the just spot to go, is up.The whole city is secured with beast high rises, enormous lodgings and super-shopping centers. Transportation is overly simple, everything is point by point in both Cantonese and English so it would be extremely difficult to get lost. There’s bounty to see here: encounters of interminable shopping, large city nightlife and delectable diminish whole are to be had. Guests can discover both pioneer history and present day design. Its o pen society permits various societies to thrive and you would see a great deal of nationalities there. You would not be astounded to see a great deal of individual kababayans strolling around. The second day was spent in DisneyLand. Despite the fact that individuals state its one of the littler Disneylands, I was as yet dazzled. The first occasion when I saw the Disney mansion in the skyline I felt like a child once more. We got the opportunity to ride all the rides, experience all the shows. It obviously superior to I expected, parts to do there, it took up the entire day. The night firecrackers was extraordinary, with every blast planned consummately with the music. Everybody had their mouths open. I can say that, regardless of whether we’re grown up and all it despite everything is an otherworldly encounter. The third day was for Ocean park. This was a thrilling outing and awesome incentive for cash! Just as the undeniable alarming rides. There was a ride there that when you were in lashed to the crazy ride the floor would vanish and have you ride around and around. Life-changing. We were sufficiently fortunate to see the Pandas at taking care of time and it was a superb encounter to be so near them. I adored the aquarium, where you can see and watch an entire eco framework live in there, with a great many fishes, sting beams, sharks and a wide range of ocean life blend with each other. With live dolphin appears, huge amounts of stuff to see and do. I think this was my preferred spot there. Day four was the day we needed to return home. As we were leaving the horizons of Hong Kong, I cannot shake of the inclination that it was all justified, despite all the trouble. Among financial plans and occupied calendars, it isn't in every case simple to put aside time and plan an escape. In any case, as Mark Twain has stated, â€Å"Twenty years from now you will be increasingly frustrated by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did. So come out o f your customary range of familiarity. Investigate. Dream. Find. †

5 Women Writers Whose Raw Honesty Has Blown My Mind

5 Women Writers Whose Raw Honesty Has Blown My Mind Last night, I crawled into bed early to finish a review copy of Morgan Jerkinss  This Will Be My Undoing  (January 2018). A collection of autobiographical essays that tackle race and gender, I knew it would be a stunner from the very first page, and it was. There were lines, in fact, that made me sit up straight because of how perfectly they elucidated certain issues. The entire book was an education. More than anything else, however, I was struck by its raw honesty, by the sharing of an interior life that was not always pretty, but which was powerful in its sincerity. And its not the first book Ive read this year to grip me with its levels of honesty. In fact, open, honest, strong writing by equally strong women writers is only becoming more prevalent. Much has been made of the confessional writing of women. This style of writing is often denigrated; many of the subjects touched upon in such works relegated to women-only categories deemed not serious enough for, well, serious literature. Which I think is a load of hooey. When people demean such writing, its partially because they want to silence it, and to suppress the conversation around certain topics. But lately, women writers havent been content to just shut up, or even to modulate their writing in order to make it more palatable to others. Which makes me giddy.   Hunger  by Roxane Gay The first book to tear me apart this year with its openness and vulnerability was Roxane Gays  Hunger,  a lyrical memoir in which the author opens up about her relationship to her body, the sexual violence that informed this relationship, and the ways in which other people relate and react to her. We live in an age in which the body positivity movement has become so mainstream that it is often co-opted by diet pushers and fitness gurus who proclaim they can give us healthy bodies, versus the skinny bodies they peddled before. So in addition to the ways in which Gay is generous with her stories of sexual violation and its aftermath, it is also freeing to see her admit to an incredibly complex relationship with her body, one in which she seesaws back and forth between loving and hating and being sort of okay with it. Love and Trouble  by Claire Dederer Several months later, I read Dederers memoir, which blindsided me in how different it was from the yoga memoir shed written all of seven years previously. It stuck with me, too, in how brazen it was, in how she seemed to just casually reveal the worst parts of herselfâ€"or rather, what I saw as the worst parts of myself, things I could never imagine revealing to the wider worldâ€"as if she had zero fucks left to give. The memoir is about reconciling the young woman she used to be with the woman she has become in midlife. But for me, what stood outâ€"and what stayed with meâ€"were lessons in sexuality and power, and in a deep wanting to be wanted. Mean  by Myriam Gurba I feel as if the entire bookternet has been raving about this book, and with good reason. A friend and I decided to read it together and I think each of us barreled through it in just two evenings. She ended up passing it on to her husband, who also loved it. So what makes this lyrical coming-of-age memoir so damn awesome? Personally, I think its Gurbas voice. The glimpse she gives us into the inner workings of her mind. Yes, this book tackles sexual assault and queer sexual awakening and race and justice and everything else that makes for an important and gripping read. But no one else could have told this story the way Gurba does. The casual coarseness with which she describes various violations, unwilling to pretty up her experiences for readers. The ways in which she reveals her deepest, darkest thoughts. The way in which she is unapologetic about protecting herself from additional harm. Weve been needing this. This Will Be My Undoing  by Morgan Jerkins Jerkins accomplishes a lot in this book. Ive already mentioned this up above. But on top of all of this is her willingness to share some of the things that have brought her shame. The contortions she has forced herself into in order to be accepted by white society. The ways in which she has compared herself to other black women. She also completely owns her sexual wantsâ€"even as she struggles with the inherent power imbalances that exist when it comes to sexâ€"an attitude that is discouraged among women in general, and among black women in particular. The Poet X  by Elizabeth Acevedo This is the only non-memoir on this list, but I cant help including it. Its a young adult novel written in verse (whaaat?). Its  told from the point of view of a young woman growing up in Harlem, grappling with her place in the world, afraid to speak her truth. The poetry that fills the book? The contents of her notebook (and also, if youll allow me to be corny, the contents of her heart). She eventually discovers slam poetry and gains the strength and courage to speak her truth out loud, in an incredibly powerful way. Though I wasnt sure how Id feel about the format, I was ugly crying by the end. After reading so many powerful voices this year, Im hungry for more. I hope this run of strong women growling out their truths keeps building, becoming a mighty roar. What are your favorite women writers? Callaway golf case Free Essays

Also, could Galloway Canada really create a source of competitive advantage in service? Ely Scalawag’s history I believe that Ely had quite a bit of a struggle in golf because he was willing to pay premium for improved performance. This is what he felt would give a competitive advantage over his competitors. Furthermore, with this strategy, he felt that It would be more enjoyable for the average golfer. We will write a custom essay sample on Callaway golf case or any similar topic only for you Order Now War-,l S. W. O. T for Galloway S- they are already established, brand loyalty W-one of their products performed poorly, only target ‘rich’ people O-Service, Tailoring to golfers needs T-Competitors and substitutes Porters 5 forces In relation to Galloway: I only depicted 2 of the 5 forces that would have a major affect on Scalawags. The first force that would come into play would be the Threat of substitutes’, this is because if prices are lower at a competing golf manufacturing company, a person who really does not care about performance, but more so for just doing it as a hobby, would Therefore, I believe that Scalawags should target a wider costumer base instead of JUST the upper class performers. On the other hand, another force that would come into play would be Rivalry because Scalawags has a lot of intense competition. This means that they have to focus on the pressure they have on prices, meaning because they charge premium prices, they are leaving out the common person, who Just wants to play golf as a hobby or for fun. However, this could also be to their advantage because they specialize in tailoring to specific performers, which means that people will be more willing to pay the premium prices, over what Scalawags competitors would offer. Alternative 1 In my opinion I believe that the first thing Galloway could do in order to improve their service and minimize competition would be to completely re-create their marketed products. They could do this by having more advertisements with the ‘new and improved’ products, which would provoke higher performance golfers to be more willing to buy. However, in a market, which is so intensely competitive, I believe that golfers in particular have a mentality of Just constantly needing to improve their ‘game’. Therefore I figured with more advertisements using the ‘above the line rumination’ strategy, would target golfers who could potentially ‘afford’ more. This is because Scalawags would be promoted in specialized magazines and on the television, which is more likely to attract higher-class performers. Alternative 2 I came to the decision that the second alternative was to help sponsor a highly recognizable and qualified golf player, which would aid in promoting their sales because people would automatically associate the product with the performer. Along with this, Galloway would be Just easily getting its name out there, because Tiger Woods for example, is an icon for professional golfers. Therefore, if Galloway chooses to sponsor Tiger, fans etc would want to Just buy the products because Tiger has them. Alternative 3 Finally, my third alternative for Scalawags would be to target a wider costumer base because right now they are Just promoting to higher performers, whereas if they they would be more likely to buy from Scalawags. However, Scalawags is perceived as being for ‘higher class’ people, which means that not too many of ‘lower class’ performers would want to purchase their products. Recommendations Overall, in my opinion I believe that Scalawags Golf should proceed with the third alternative first because catering to other people would be the easiest and less expensive way to improve service and also to gain a competitive advantage over their rivalry. Along with this, their sales should increase because more people will be willing to buy their product. However, people still may not even want to buy the product because they prefer substitutes. On the other hand, I perceived the second best thing to do would be the sponsor because it’s a good marketing strategy. Therefore, by sponsoring a highly qualified ND recognized performer like Tiger Woods, people would be more open to your brand. Finally, the third and last thing I decided for Galloway is in order to improve its service and gain a competitive advantage they should re-create their image. This, however, would be the most expensive and time consuming because they would have to develop market research on what the other ‘lower class’ performers would want. Along with this, the competition of much larger golf stores like Nikkei, who tailor to EVERYONE in golf, have already built that relationship with their customers that Galloway may be trying to target. New York: American Book Company, 1912. TAMBURLAINE: Villain, art thou the son of Tamburlaine, And fearst to die, or with a curtle-axe To hew thy flesh, and make a gaping wound? Has thou beheld a peal of ordnance strike A ring of pikes, mingled with shot and horse, Whose shatterd limbs, being tossd as high as heaven, Hang in the air as thick as sunny motes, And canst thou, coward, stand in fear of death? Hath thou not seen my horsemen charge the foe, Shot through the arms, cut overthwart the hands, Dying their lances with their streaming blood, And yet at night carouse within my tent, Filling their empty veins with airy wine, That, being concocted, turns to crimson blood, And wilt thou shun the field for fear of wounds? The sonnet structure Essays

The sonnet structure Essays The sonnet structure Paper The sonnet structure Paper Edna St. Vincent Millays I will put Chaos into 14 lines sonnet is very vague on the surface. If you dig deeper, there could be a variety of interpretations. One interpretation is that this sonnet could be about a man. Him is referred to constantly throughout the sonnet. If you go with that theory, then the sonnet would be about a relationship with the man who seems chaotic to the narrator. The I is trying desperately to make some sense of him. Her goal is to make him good (14). That is only one possible argument, which could be argued, based on textual clues. The more likely interpretation is that this sonnet is about writing a sonnet. What helps lead the reader to that conclusion is evidence from the first line: I will put Chaos into fourteen lines (1). Fourteen lines is typically the length of a sonnet, and this particular sonnet is 14 lines. Now that we know what this particular sonnet is about, what does Millay have to say about writing sonnets and how does she say it? These questions will be explored in this paper. The first step is to look at the sonnet structure itself. This is a Petrarchan sonnet and follows the typical structure for this form. There is an octave, sestet and there is a rhyming scheme. The octave follows the typical rhyming scheme of ABBAABBA. The rhyme scheme in the sestet is CDCDCD and is a variation to the typical rhyme scheme. What lips my lips have kissed, and where and why is another Millay sonnet that follows the Petrarchan form and again has the slight variation in rhyming scheme which is CDEDCE in the sestet. The octave forms the question and the goal of the sonnet while the sestet addresses the question and attempts to resolve or comment on it. The overall structure of the sonnet can be quite rigid in the point of view of the poet who has to create based on these restrictions. The poet has to come up with a question and resolution. Poets also have to come up with words that follow a particular rhyme scheme. Creating a sonnet can seem like a difficult task. This is what Millay is struggling with in the beginning of I will put Chaos into 14 lines. I will put Chaos into 14 lines can be called a sonnet based on the criteria above. The octave sets the goal of the sonnet, and the particular goal of this sonnet is to put Chaos into 14 lines (1). That is what the writer does in the octave. He escapes and flood, fire, and demon (4) are released in the next line. Chaos is finally caught in the strict confines/ Of this sweet order (5-6). At the end of the octave Chaos mingles and combines with the order. Now that the goal of the octave has been set up, the sestet can attempt to resolve the goal. The resolution is that now that Chaos and Order have intermingled, the writer can finish the sonnet. The turn in the sonnet comes in the sestet when the writer proclaims that I have him. (11). The writer has been successful in putting the Chaos into 14 lines (1). What is the Chaos that the poet mentions in the first line? The chaos is referred to as him in the second line. Him is usually a pronoun for man. This again refers to the possible interpretation in the introduction. The him brings up an image of a man and since its a woman poet, the idea of a relationship emerges. Knowing that this sonnet is about writing a sonnet, a different interpretation emerges. Him could possibly refer to a muse since they are sources of inspiration. This muse is also the cause of the Chaos. The poets muse has been released on this sonnet and ideas are starting to form. Some of her early ideas are flood, fire and demon (4). Her muse releases these chaotic elements, but they do not work within the confines of the sonnet structure. What happens next is that the Chaos is trapped by the sonnet: his adroit designs / Will strain to nothing in the strict confines / of this sweet order (4-6). His adroit designs were the flood, fire and demon (4). Those were previous ideas that now do not work because they are trapped within the confines of the sonnet structure. The structure of the sonnet is also seen as sweet order. The sonnet structure can be confining in the fact that the poet needs an octave, sestet and rhyming scheme. These sonnet elements can bring some order to the Chaos. The poet knows that she needs to utilize these elements in her sonnet. They bring some order to the Chaos of her thoughts and ideas. As mentioned previously him represents a man. So why is this pronoun used through the sonnet? The idea of him as a muse also seems erotic since it creates an image of a relationship. Him eventually becomes caught and combined with Order. Why is this relationship between Chaos and Order significant? Its important because it adds another dimension to the sonnet. It adds the image of the relationship. Keeping in mind that this is a sonnet about writing a sonnet, the relationship image adds some insight into the writer. The Chaos is her muse and the Order is the sonnet structure. The Chaos that is her muse and ideas, is the one in control at the beginning of the poem. Then the Order of the sonnet structure gains the control and the writer is about to finish the task that she set out to accomplish. The Chaos and the Order play against each other and in the end they come together to create this sonnet. Millay has accomplished what she set out to do in this sonnet. She has successfully written a sonnet about the writing process. She has written the sonnet with in the confines of the sonnet structure. She has been a slave to her muse but she has conquered it in the end. Her ideas about writing have been captured in this sonnet. She has been successful in her goal.

Sleazy and slazy

Sleazy and slazy Sleazy and slazy Sleazy and slazy By Maeve Maddox Sleezy is given in both the OED and Merriam-Webster as an alternate spelling of sleazy, but the only standard pronunciation of sleazy is /slÄ“zÄ“/, with a long e. NOTE: the pronunciation [slÄ zÄ“] can be found in dialect. It can also be documented in the works of American writers of the 19th and early 20th centuries. Presently, however, the long e pronunciation is the standard on both sides of the Atlantic. Since Id never heard sleazy pronounced slazy, I snapped to attention when I heard a character on a television program say that something done by another character was slazy. The other character repeated the word as slazy. Unfortunately, I have no way to double check, but it seemed to me that the context called for sleazy in its sense of filthy, sordid, depraved. But I would have assumed that because the program was Rules of Engagement and the speakers were the extremely sleazy characters Jeff and Russell. The word sleazy entered the language in the 1640s as a textile term with the meaning hairy, fuzzy. In the 1660s it took on the meaning flimsy, unsubstantial. The word was applied to fabrics that were lacking in body, what wed call flimsy. From there it was used to describe anything lacking in substance and eventually took on the meanings dilapidated, filthy, slatternly, squalid; sordid, depraved, disreputable, worthless. The back formation sleaze meaning person of low moral standards is a recent coinage. The earliest example given in the OED is dated 1976. Sleazebag is attested in 1981. Here are some examples of current usage: I used to have a purple paisley polyester pull-over†¦ that made me feel 70s sleazy†¦ †¦this place is in NO WAY a restaurantall you have to do is look at the fliers he puts up and you would know its a sleazy nightclub!! Sleazy Antics of ESPN Stars How do I stop a sleazy journalist from using my name? An internet search brought up numerous examples of the word slazy. A few are misspellings of sleazy, but most reflect a new coinage based on the word lazy. Here are two examples in which slazy is a misspelling for sleazy: the places where this happens are slazy, unattractive developments which encourage low-quality behaviour. these companies morph from slazy little back alley rooms to full service brightly lit and beautifully appointed offices.. Although the word slazy as a synonym for lazy has not yet made it into the major dictionaries, it is mentioned in the Urban Dictionary. One definition describes it as a combination of sleepy and lazy; another as a slack+lazy. Im not sure what its supposed to mean as the blog title of a get-rich-quick site called Slazy Cash. Perhaps just lazy. I rather like the definition given by blogger Katie Richardson whose husband created slazy as a combination of the intensifier so and lazy to give the meaning extremely lazy. Her husband used it to describe the behavior of a man who used his GPS to find a house whose location was already familiar to him. She applies it to behavior motivated by brainless over-reliance on technology. Used as a spelling or pronunciation for sleazy, slazy is a misspelling and a mispronunciation. Used as a cutesy word for the standard word lazy, slazy has little to recommend it. Want to improve your English in five minutes a day? WWII Uboat campaign Term Paper Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1000 words

WWII Uboat campaign - Term Paper Example German boats were equipped with 5 torpedoes and one main gun (Russell 122). U- Boats were mainly constructed for intelligence gathering of enemy movement and for launching special operations. German war planners very efficiently used U-boats to threaten and ultimately target the royal and merchant navy. U-boats sunk Royal navy and merchant ships sunk in huge numbers in different occasions. Restrictions of â€Å"treaty of Versailles† could not compel German navy to do away with submarine tactics during the Second World War (Gannon 47). Besides sinking battleships, boats also sunk an aircraft carrier in the Atlantic waters. U-boats almost compelled Britain war planners to consider surrender in the war. After the completion of German campaign in Western Europe, Hitler’s navy employed all the u-boats in Atlantic for patrolling the waters. This posed great threat to British merchant fleet as very less escort was available to guard the ships against German u-boat attacks. Sub marines had already proved the metal in the First World War but after passing about 20 years the U-boat tactics played havoc in Atlantic waters (Russell 119). U-boats played an important part in world war two, Winston Churchill claimed that U-boat war in Atlantic was so impressive and result oriented that Britain was forced to consider surrender during the Second World War.... German navy decided to target merchant fleets to threaten trade in the Atlantic. Merchant fleets used to travel with inadequate fleet so vulnerability to German attacks was already increased. It was almost impossible for Britain to provide complete protection and aerial cover to fleets throughout their Atlantic route. German navy started analyzing the points on the sea route where these fleets were coverless and no aerial or naval support available to merchant ships (Showell 71). Mid Atlantic was one of the lucrative options for attacking these fleets. The royal Britain navy was already over tasked in different regions of the world. Royal navy was facing challenging situation in accomplishment of the tasks in Atlantic, Far East and the Mediterranean. Therefore, the royal navy was already overstretched in the war. Such huge tasks of royal navy demanded careful planning and use of intelligence and tactics from naval and army commanders (Russell 132). Royal navy was greatly assisted by the French navy in defending the Mediterranean. Germany had 56 boats out of which only 46 were operational at the start of the war. According to the understanding of the famous â€Å"treaty of Versailles† Germany was not allowed to maintain any submarine as part of its naval fleet (Stern 58). Therefore, Germany took other measures by sending the troops abroad for submarine training. The treaty posed no restrictions on training the troops for anti submarine tasks. U-boat commanders were told to target merchant ships in Atlantic to break the backbone of British trade. In august 39, seventeen U-boats were sent to Atlantic Ocean with the mission of patrolling and laying mines (Showell 72). At the start of the battle, u-30 attacked and sunk liner â€Å"thania† casting 112 life causalities

Macro economics Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1000 words

Macro economics - Essay Example It categorically defined employee and enables the Federal government to enforce acceptable means necessary to promote employment for economic stability (McConnell and Brue 214). These statues as well as other directives from the government are factors that shape a country’s fiscal policy. Prior to the Great Depression, national government intervention was limited to foreign policy and national defense. Most of fiscal policies are determined in state levels of government who had ample discretion in the formation of their own guidelines. Economists often refer to another important factor in the determination of economic dynamics in the form of political influence as a major factor in the federal budget. When there is unsupervised spending by politicians into particular interests groups then this could lead to exhaustive government expenditure relative to the tax revenues and leads to federal budget deficits (Boyes and Melvin 248). Staggering budget deficits is a major problem fo r any economy that brings imbalance to the entire system and impedes growth bringing adverse effects to members of a country’s population. There are two broad categories of fiscal tools as enumerated by McEachern as automatic stabilizers and discretionary. The first are programs that regulate the economy by stabilizing disposable income through the real GDP and consumption. The best example of an automatic stabilizer is income tax which automatically modifies the disposable income of an individual. The second is a direct manipulation by the government to encourage its macroeconomic objectives including full employment, growth and price stability. They may differ in the length of execution and as to... This paper discusses such important macroeconomic concepts as business cycles, fiscal policy and fiscal tools. Business cycle is essentially the rise and decline of economic activity. There is no specific or clear-cut span of time that determines a business cycle and the same may range for several years. There are four phases of the business cycle that comprises of peak, recession, trough and recovery A widely used measurement of output is the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of a country which sees peaks and lows The occurrence of business cycles and its concurrent effect on increasing unemployment and inflation prevents economic growth. The mandate of a country to influence economic activity is the central purpose of fiscal policy. Macroeconomic theories are utilized in the formulation of the scope and limitations of fiscal policy. An example of a direct reaction of the government founded on fiscal policy is the Employment Act of 1946 when unemployment became a major problem after World War II. Prior to the Great Depression, national government intervention was limited to foreign policy and national defense. There are two broad categories of fiscal tools as enumerated by McEachern as automatic stabilizers and discretionary The first are programs that regulate the economy by stabilizing disposable income through the real GDP and consumption. The second is a direct manipulation by the government to encourage its macroeconomic objectives including full employment, growth and price stability. The 2009 stimulus plan implemented by President Obama is a good example of a discretionary fiscal tool adopted by the U.S. Government

McDonld process McDonalds manufacturing process is completely transparent to the customer and in the market. Even A customer can see the process of the fast food and they can judge to hygienic standards at Mc Donalds by allowing them to enter where the process took place. A customer has allow to check the ingredients used in food. Inputs Material-Other procedures where the material use which can called a preparation. We have to prepare for all kind of material for making fast food. And Raw material are arranged acoording to the requirement. Example : Ready all kind of sauce, make a ready all vegetable and salads to ready for serve, burgers, Cheese, Chips and extra. The facility is designed by traditional techniques, scale plans, diagrams, and travel charring very lower cost. Staff   In the McDonalds the people who operates, maintain, plan and manage the operation. the term ‘staff to describe all the people in the Main operation, and any kind of operation. One reason that, its a legal requirements of the quality of fast food served. And Secondly ,to Maintain the good reputation about McDonalds Corporation earned over the years. Its   very difficult to maintain an quality of food   and therefore McDonalds carry on a number of practices to Double check that quality food is served. Some of these practices are the visited by the food inspector from the Food and Hygienic, supervisor checks etc. 4v challenges in Mc Donald The volume of their output; The variety of their output; The variation in the demand for their output; The degree of visibility which customers have of the production of the product or service. The volume dimension High-volume hamburger production is McDonalds, and they serve millions of burgers in the world each and every. Volume has most thing to implications for the way McDonalds operations are organized. First reason is the repeatabilityof the tasks people are doing and the systemizationof the worked where standard procedures are fix in a manual, with instructions with big volume of the job should be carried out. Also the tasks are systematized and repeated, it is worthwhile developing specialized fryers and ovens. All this given by low unit costs. Now consider a small local cafeteria serving a few ‘short order dishes. The range of items on the menu may be similar to the larger operation, but the volume will be more less than large operation.   And a degree of repetition will also be far lower. and the number of staff will be less. The variety dimension Mc Donald company offers a high-variety service. It may confine its   different type of   fast foods, servicing of people in the restaurant. In order to offer this variety it must be relatively flexible. Employee must have a good knowledge about customer like and dislike. So they can prepaid for that. The variation dimension MC Donald company has a variation dimension in a year. Basically Mc Donald has variation in products. Like, Hot food, and Cold drinks and Ice creams and different type of cold drinks. And Hot chocolates. Customers like cold drinks in summer times than in the middle of winter. And Customer like to drink Hot chocolates in winter time. They have different breakfast as per seasonal time. The visibility dimension Visibility is a slightly more difficult dimension of operations to envisage. It means how much of the operations activities its customers experience, or how much the operation is exposedto its customers. Generally, customer-processing operations are more exposed to their customers than material- or information-processing operations. But even customer processing operations have some choice as to how visible they wish their operations to be. For example, in clothes retailing, an organization could decide to operate as a chain of conventional shops. Alternatively, it could decide not to have any shops at all but rather to run an internet-based operation. Performance Objectives of every organization There are five performance objectives. Speed Cost Quality Dependability Flexibility Organizational structure of McDonalds, affects its performance and helps it to meet its objectives. The organizational structure of McDonalds has a big impact in helping the restaurant to have an effective performance and also boost it to meet its objectives. The production area of McDonalds by ensuring that there is enough food products, packaging for food in order for the restaurant to operate each day, and to requirement of the customers, and that customers needs are met properly. To do this McDonalds orders the food that it require from the suppliers in bulk whenever needed; this is essential due to McDonalds serving the food over a number of customers every day, the restaurant required to be good equipped with food items and packaging for the food so that it can run successfully and not have customers complaining due to the lack of food this According to my study McDonalds has two main performance objectives. Speed How much the time to customer has to stay for their product and the services its called speed. McDonalds aim for drive-thru is 90 seconds. But that is just regular documentation for the report not for every time. Here speed is main objective for McDonalds drive-thru performance, so they have to be accurate on that. If they cant keep that speed for serve the customer in drive-thru during busy time customer will unhappy with the services. For progress that performance McDonalds need to modify the policy and the system to serve the customer that will consume the time to chase the customers order in-time. For perform excellent process they have to follow the sequencing regulations, like when the customer will come first, than priority for that customer is high than the next customer. According to the sequencing system in McDonalds they wish First-In-First-Out Sequencing rules. Some time it could be change on order. If they make two different queues for serve the customer fast by customer s order number. It means two different queues for big and little order that will be supportive to McDonalds serving speed. Cost Cost is usually main objective for McDonalds. For organization complete in price, cost must be a significant objective. If they produce lower price product than it would be cheap for the customer. Most of the organization spends the money first for staff wages, after that machinery, stuff, tools and services. McDonalds provide low cost product. McDonalds food is very cheaper than other Companies food. Mc Donalds give an offer to customers in a meal deal, Burger, sandwich and   more number of people will be attracted by offer and McDonald average cost will decrease. Mcdonalda in some cost cutting strategy include are also investing in energy-saving to equipment Quality Mcdonalds food quality is as good as at used to be long time, this restaurant is already go through periodic inspections in item of quality food,in mcdonalds improving to tranning process and taking care of employees. Well i think the quality and menu at McDonalds needs to improve. Whats with the quarter pounders meat sticking out of the bun? Bun should be the same size as the meat, baru okay for the price that we are paying. For the past 20 years weve all been eathing the same thing, whats new Fold over, Quarter Pounder, Prosperity Burger, Big and Tasty Samurai Burger, Chicken Mc Deluxe all etc. CONCLUSION: We learn from above assignment that operations management is very important for any company as they have a partnership with the overall strategy of the organisation. Mc Donald used an Operation Management system in there channel. And by using a OM system Mc Donald company grow up year by year. McDonalds believes that the success of the restaurants and the company is achieved through the people it employs. MC Donald has a powerful five performance obejectives. The company aims to recruit the best people, to retain them by offering ongoing training relevant to their position and to promote them when they are ready.OM contributes to the strategy and they helps the organisation to gain competitive advantage. For an immediate basis, process planning can help the organisation reduce cost and gain cost advantages and therefore gain competitive advantage. Therefore the organisations must effectively manage the operations of the business as it has a massive effect on the strategy of the organi sation.

Nursing As a Discipline Essay

Is nursing a discipline or just a profession? The term discipline describes the practise of training people to obey rules or a code of behaviour, so can nursing be placed under this classification? The term profession described as a paid occupation or a body of people engaged in a particular profession, so can nursing be placed under this classification? Yes nursing is a paid occupation, thus allowing it to be placed under the classification of nursing as a profession. However, nursing can also be placed under discipline as you are trained to obey a code of behaviour. Nursing as a discipline has interrelated relationships between nursing practice, knowledge and research and these relationships help to advance the discipline of nursing. Is nursing a profession or a discipline? The goal of the discipline is to expand knowledge about human experiences through creative conceptualisation and research, (Parse, R.R, 1999). The goal of the profession is to provide a service to humankind thro ugh living the art of science, (Parse, R.R, 1999). Through those definitions of the nursing discipline and the nursing profession, it can be seen that the nursing practice can be thought as a discipline or a profession. The discipline of nursing encompasses the knowledge in the extant framework and theories that are embedded in the totality and simultaneity paradigm, (Parse, R.R, 1999). The profession of nursing consists of person educated in the discipline of nursing according to nationally regulated defined and monitored standards, (Parse, R.R, 1999). You can see that nursing is both a profession and a discipline and you can see that there are interrelationships between nursing practice, knowledge and research. In nursing as a discipline you can see that there is an interrelationship between nursing practice, knowledge and research. It has been said that that understanding of knowledge base is essential for judgement and decision-making that occurs before, during, and after the actual tasks are preformed, (Evans, R.J, 2006). This shows that the relationship between nursing practice and knowledge is strong and can be seen in everyday practice. â€Å"An awareness of the relationship(s) between skil ls and other competencies is essential to understanding the complexity of the dynamics of nursing practice†, (Evans, R.J, 2006). This shows the importance of being able to back up the choices made with the knowledge and research. The relationship between knowledge and research is just as  important as the relationship between nursing practice and knowledge. Having that relationship allows for the knowledge to be gained by research and in the overall picture is allows for the interrelationship between nursing practice, knowledge and research to be seen by others that are not in the health care workforce. |A proposed model that builds on work by Benner, (1984), illustrated that nurses moves through a number of phases in nursing, from novice to expert. The authors here propose that the knowledge, skill and judgement possessed by the nurse also pass through the same phases. The skills implemented by a nurse are not performed contextually free. They are always supported by the knowledge acquired through basic and continuing education, experience, research findings, and intuition that nurses develop as they move through Benner’s levels of novice to expert. The performance of a skill cannot stand alone; it is always supported by the knowledge and judgement. The second part of the model revolves around the understanding that knowledge, judgement, and their skills and their interrelationship do no remain static. We believe that the knowledge, skill and judgement that nurses possess and display also change in a similar manner.| (Evans, R.J, 2006). This demonstrates that having this relationship in the nursing profession helps to advance it as a discipline. By having these relationships public within the nursing profession it shows that they know what they are doing. It gives a support when with the patients. These relationships help the families and carers of those we look after. The interrelationships between nursing practice, knowledge and research have helped advance nursing as a discipline but also keeping it within a profession. As the definition goes discipline is training of people to obey a code of behaviour, and that’s what the interrelationships between nursing practice, knowledge and research shows. Having these advancements plays a significant role on nurses and the nursing career as they give nurses a broader role within the workforce, as they are not just looking after pa tients and being there advocates, nurses are now showing their knowledge in their judgements and decision-makings. Overall, the nursing career can be classified as a profession as well as a discipline due to the interrelationship between nursing practice, knowledge and research. They have had a big role in the advancement of nursing as a discipline. Nurses now have the role of demonstrating their knowledge through their judgements  and decision-making within the nursing practice. By doing this they illustrate the large interrelationship between nursing practice, knowledge and research. References: Evans, R. J., & Donnelly, G. W. (2006). Climate Change Is The Global Climate System - 1369 Words

Climate is part of our everyday lives. What we experience is the global climate system. According to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, climate change is, a change of climate which is attributed directly or indirectly to human activity alters the composition of the atmosphere and which is in addition to natural climate variability observed over comparable time periods. (Allen, Seaman Delascio, 2009) Australia’s climate has warmed a lot more since 1910 by the average of 0.9’C. it has been rising dramaticllay since 1950’s.the daytime temperatures have increased by 0.8’C whereas in the night time, we experience 1.1’C more heat than the people living in 1900’s. (BOM CSIRO, 2014). In 2004 more than 234 newspaper articles have concluded that we may have, in fact, reached the tipping point for the climate change. Walker (2006) believes that this man made climate change has caused havoc on the earth’s atmosphere and t he most striking of all the components is the arctic. Farthest north is the carapace of sea ice over the Arctic Ocean. South of that is the vast ice sheet that covers Greenland. And then there is the ocean conveyor belt, which originates in a small region of the Nordic seas and carries heat and salt around the world. All three seem to have inbuilt danger zones that may deserve to be called tipping points. And the outside forces pushing them towards those points are gathering. It has been found that the summer sea ice has shrunk by anShow MoreRelatedThe Climate Crisis And Its Effects On The Environment1428 Words   |  6 PagesThe climate crisis is a defining struggle of our age bringing political, economic, religious, and environmental tensions and conflicts to surface. At this moment in history a great transitional worldview needs to take place, but is depressingly out of reach, and humankind seems woefully unprepared/interested to confront monumental challenges and change. Global Temperature?1310 Words   |  6 Pages Is global climate change man-made? Global temperature has been changing for the past coupl e of decades. This leaves researchers to believe that mankind is to blame for this abrupt change. Life on earth depends upon the average climate that has been around for thousands of years. Without this favorable climate, life on earth will be unsustainable. Those who argue that climate change is not affected by humans state that the emissions humans put into the atmosphere are too small to have an effectRead MoreThe Effects Of Climate Change On The Earth1358 Words   |  6 Pagesseize. It is contended that warming over the 20th century resulted primarily from natural processes such as fluctuations in the sun s heat and ocean currents. But the theory of human-caused global climate change is based on questionable measurements, faulty climate models, and misleading science.
